The region, which is founded on the foothills of the Himalayas and fed by the water and melting iced in this area, is a wonderful environment for Basmati rice. 83% of thge total planted are is assigned to Basmati rice. Seed plantation of this rice with natural aroma is realized between May and July gradually in order to obtain the best result. The harvest starts after November.
After collecting the product, it should be waited before processing. The most important feature of Basmati rice is that it can be two times bigger than the original size.
Basmati rice can be used as pure rice and garnish. Especially walnuts, almonds and curry sauce are the product that are mostly used with Basmati rice. Basmati rice is exposed to two type polishing methods. Double polish system is the preferred method. Because it leaves less dust and Reisdue compared to silk polish. Shelf life of Basmati rice is 3 years.
