It is a preferred product and cultivated in Aegean region; especially in Izmir and Aydin. In Ankara and Yozgat, yellow lentil obtained from green lentil (by processing in thresher and peeling) is not preferred; but it is sold.
Yellow lentil should be well dried and peeled. It should not contain shell Reisdues and be canary yellow. Moisture rate should not excess 14.5%, weed and seed rate is 1%, moldy, rotten and damaged grain is 1% and broken grains rate is 3%. The amount of the other foreign plants such as vetch in the yellow lentil should not excess 5%. It should be exhibited in stores and racks away from direct sunlight.
